Dandelions Poetry

Dandelions Poetry aims to present excellent and varied poetry to a wide audience. 

We host a monthly poetry event on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at the Broadway Cinema.  It starts at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.

We want to be accessible to people who might not usually attend poetry events. 

We recognise that performing, whether as a featured poet or open mic poet, is not easy, and therefore we aim to be encouraging, respectful and emotionally responsive. 

We especially welcome first time readers. We are friendly and welcoming, to anyone who wants to come and listen, as well as to performers. 

We want to create a poetry community, and foster connections between the Dandelions who attend.

Dandelions grow in the cracks where we least expect them, forcing their way into our attention with untidy beauty. The poetry featured at Dandelions Poetry comes from unexpected angles, focusing on experiences that might often be pulled up and discarded. Come along and appreciate some blooms in surprising places. Join in and read a poem if you want to.
